Life is BEAUTIFUL!
Week of: January 29, 2006

Life is Beautiful.

...and so are You! But now more than ever, you might need a little more help to capture back that essence of beauty you once had. Let's face it, the lack of sleep is catching up with you and motherhood is starting to wear you down.

I've gathered a few tips to help you get back to your glamourous self. You deserve it!

1) HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! Your body and skin can never get too much water and hydration. Eight to ten glasses (at least) every day. If you get bored of plain water, try bubbly water, as my son calls it - or better known as sparkling water to switch it up every so often. I also love lime or orange slices for added flavor.

2) NAPPING ISN'T JUST FOR YOUR LITTLE ONE -- Sleep will rejuvenate your tired body and soul. Or if the idea of shut eye seems a little too boring, then a restful couple hours of reading or simply relaxing on the couch will surely do!

3) FACE TIME -- I know how hard it is to keep up your beauty regiment during the first few months of being a new mom...heck, when does it get easier?? I promise you, it does! But in the meantime, you must carve up 20 minutes before bedtime to care for your skin. It will only make you look and feel better. Who says you have to give up that glowing skin once you've given birth. By simply washing your face nightly with a water-based cleanser and properly moisturizing, your skin is certain to continue glowing!

4) WALK IT OFF -- The power of exercise. I know we all wish we could take more time for ourselves, maybe hit the gym, jog a little bit...I know, I've said the same thing for years now! I can tell you this - no matter where you live, Los Angeles, Omaha or London, there is always ground to walk on! Fortunately for me, Los Angeles streets are absolutely lovely to walk around. The idea of spending a moment in the fresh air and circulating blood throughout your body and muscles is enough to get me out the door. Put your little one in the stroller or jogger and get out into the fresh air and do your body some good!

5) YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT! Yes, what you put into your body is what fuels your body...and if the days are starting to seem a bit longer, then you'll need all the nutrients you can get to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Leafy greens, calcium for your bones and lots of fresh juices are all MUST-HAVES! And let's not forget about protein to power your body throughout the days and nights.

I hope these tips are helpful to you! Stay tuned for more next week!
